About Salut
LLMs might be the greatest productivity tool built yet. Like any technology, we have to design systems around it so it stays useful. Salut starts by understanding your request, then routes it to the model that's strongest for the job — so you never choose between the best model and the best experience.
Conversations with these models can be more personal than any search you've typed. That's why everything shared stays anonymised unless you decide otherwise — and why we verify the truth before you rely on it. Trust and experience go hand in hand. You shouldn't have to give up either.
What we believe
AI can be
used for good
LLMs are probably the most productivity boosting technologies that humans have created so far. But without humans it will remain pretty useless. Therefore the tools we make with them have to be intrinsically humane. Salut is our answer.
Placing all your data in one basket is bad.
We've already been through multiple tech cycles where we end up with a single player taking all the users and then being able to dictate how the industry operates. AI is/was on the same path, so by decoupling (y)our data like memory, history and documents from the LLM services, you still have access to your data even if a service fails.
AI is a technology,
not a magic wand.
LLM AI technology is incredibly impressive, but the hype is overpromising what it can do. Hallucinations, for example, are not a bug that will disappear, but a feature that's here to stay. Humans will always need to direct it. In fact, we believe it's ultimately one of the best extensions of our mind, if we use it correctly.
About our team
We're pretty indie right now. Just two guys with a dream of making a product people love. Arthur, the one who's writing this, is responsible for running Salut and the frontend applications, while Thijmen is taking care of the backend. When you reach out, it'll be one of us responding. Salut is the product we want to use. As long as that's true, we should be in good company.
Although we're small right now and without any VC funding, we do have the ambition to grow. Just not by any means necessary. We truly believe that AI can be used as a force for good and make people more productive, but are not blind to the forces at hand pushing the world into enshittification.
